Purdy Cost Less Pharmacy is a second generation, family-owned pharmacy dedicated to bringing the best, friendliest, and most trustworthy pharmacy experience to Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula. Drew Zimmerman’s father Don built the pharmacy from the ground up, opening in 1976 when there wasn’t a pharmacy for miles around. Drew grew up helping his dad and learning how to run a pharmacy. In 2002 Drew married Allison, whose pharmacist father was good friends with Don. She also worked at Purdy Cost Less Pharmacy for a time while she was pursuing her master’s degree. Drew owned and operated a closed door pharmacy for 25 years before he and Allison took over Purdy Cost Less Pharmacy in 2020 when Don retired.
Purdy Cost Less Pharmacy is the nostalgic neighborhood drugstore reborn. A pharmacy as well as a general store, it is a one-stop-shop where you will be greeted with a smile and known by name. The pharmacy offers medication synchronization for a monthly single visit pick-up or delivery, 24/7 online refills, and kind, prompt, complete in-person service that is unmatched. Purdy Cost Less Pharmacy’s general store offers everything from motor oil, hunting equipment, and fishing gear to high-quality homewares, locally-made gifts, and specialty brands like Nora Fleming. Drew and Allison are devoted to caring for their customers and community members in the same personal way that Don committed to decades ago.
The Zimmermans’ community-first values and neighborly service extend far beyond the doors of their store. They support the Peninsula Hawks Scholarship Fund, Key Peninsula Logging Show & Festival, Key Peninsula Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH Food Bank, Food Backpacks 4 Kids, our local high schools, and many other Gig Harbor artists, makers, and small business owners. Drew and Allison are members of the Key Peninsula Lions Club and the Key Peninsula Business Association. They run a Pharmacy Assistant Program that trains Peninsula graduates in pharmacy technician skills.
