As the holidays are here, it’s already time to prepare for a new year!
If you don’t want to drop the ball on planning your NYE celebration, check out some ideas below! I’ve listed events from Gig Harbor to Seattle, local restaurants that will be open, a variety of activities the whole family can enjoy, and even some ways that the kiddos can celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve.” However you decide to ring it in, I wish you a very Happy New Year and all the best in 2025!
Events
Columbia Tower Club Gala- hosted by Canterwood Golf & Country Club
Tuesday, December 31, 2024 | 9pm – 1am
Canterwood is hosting a Great Gatsby Gala at the Columbia Tower Club! If you want to dress to impress and party like it’s the 1920’s, this event is for you! For $150 per person, your night out includes hors d’oeuvres, a free drink upon arrival, entertainment, DJ and dancing, a full cocktail bar, midnight champagne toast, horns and hats for midnight celebration and the best fireworks view!

Ocean5-Denim and Diamonds Celebration
Tuesday, December 31, 2024 | 7pm - 12:30am
Ocean5 is offering two shows as part of their New Year’s Eve Bash, so take your pick or have double the fun by attending both. Dueling Pianos (7pm - about 9:30pm) includes dinner, singing, and dancing, and the Landslide Band (9pm - 12:30am) will keep you on your feet with the top 40 in dance numbers and Fleetwood Mac covers. Tickets are available online (both shows are 21+).
New Year’s Eve with The Profits

Gig Harbor Eagles is hosting an unforgettable evening. Take a step back in time to The Golden Age of Cinema with a look into vintage Hollywood. Come dressed in your favorite Great Gatsby/Roaring 20’s attire and enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing a DJ and Live Music by The Profits! Ring in the New Year with complimentary party favors and a champagne toast!

Seattle Symphony- Disco Fever
Tuesday, December 31, 2024 | 9pm
What better way to welcome the new year than with a boogie wonderland at Benaroya Hall? Seattle Symphony will be joined by vocalists Maiya Sykes, B. Slade and conductor Enrico Lopesz-Yañez to help you dance the night away with hits like “That’s the Way (I like it)”, “I Will Survive” and more! Count down to Noon Year’s with a Times-Square style ball drop every hour at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia. Seattle Aquarium

Join the Seattle Aquarium for their Rockin’ Rockfish party as they livestream their annual countdown with new animals, music, and dances. To participate in this event all you have to do is register here and they will send you a link to watch from home or you can join in for a watch party at the Aquarium!

Reserve a bowling pod for up to 6 people for a Taylor Swift Rock and Bowl! For 2 hours your party will bowl and dance away to T-Swift tunes while the NYE ball drop countdown plays on the big screens.
Ocean5-New Year’s Eve Rock and Bowl

If you’re not a Swiftie, we won’t tell! But you can enjoy a NYE Rock and Bowl that includes one hour of bowling starting at 11pm. The NYE ball drop countdown will play on the big screen so you can ring in the New Year at the end of your hour! All the details can be found online. The Seattle Center will be offering activities for kids as well as adults. Join the scavenger hunt at the Winterfest Train & Village, watch The Snow Queen at Seattle Children’s Theatre, enjoy the Noon Year’s Eve Ball at the Seattle Children’s Museum, catch the fireworks at the Space Needle, and more.

Don’t miss seeing the Northwest’s largest drive-through holiday display at Spanaway Park! Tickets are available online and must be purchased in advance.
Zoolights - Point Defiance Zoo

See the zoo magically transformed with over 800,000 lights! You can purchase tickets online.
Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink
New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day | 9am - 10:30pm
Featuring over 9,000 square feet of real ice, this is the largest seasonal ice rink in the region. Tickets available online.
Ice Lights - Sprinker Recreation Center, Tacoma
New Year’s Eve | 9am - 2pm
Experience a winter wonderland with the arena’s Ice Lights program, featuring lights and animated displays.
Oly on Ice - Isthmus Park, Olympia

Purchase tickets at the rink, or pay for and reserve your skating session ahead of time online (recommended). Rates and hours vary depending on the day.
Polar Bear Plunge - Point Defiance
Wednesday, January 1, 2025 | 10am - 2pm
BRRRRRing in the new year with a splash! There will be an Adult Plunge and a Cub & Family Plunge at the Point Defiance Marina Public Boat Launch. Visit the Metro Parks Tacoma website for more details.
